Scrubbing the Floors

Description

For the next prison chore, Dawn Bellwether is now put to work scrubbing the floors either in the television room, shower room, or kitchen floor, while being watched by a staff member assigned to keep an eye on any inmates that are put on whatever cleaning schedule they're given. While scrubbing floors, counters, and washing an endless pile of dishes in the kitchen is her least favorite chore, Dawn knows better than to complain as she recalls one inmate telling her of an incident that occurred not too long ago when another inmate that suffered from a mental illness refused to cooperate and attacked on of the staff members that he/she had to be placed in solitary confinement down below where the most dangerous inmates are held, even those that showed signs of violent behaviors, engaging in bad behavior, and making threats against other staff and inmates. If such a room did exist on the floor below the facility, Dawn fears the thought of being dragged down to such a dungeon like hallway and be left there for more than an hour until she loses her mind. But unless the inmate only brought that story up to scare her, and even if it didn't exist below, Dawn still struggles to keep her cool and stay calm whenever she is put to work, even during her most hated chores in the kitchen, which is hard when you got a bad tempered staff member watching your every move and demanding that everything be spotless before you leave back to your cell, where one little complaint can make things worse, which is what Dawn learns the hard way the more she sees what life is like behind bars. And if there was ever an incident where Dawn did lose her temper with a staff member or other inmate, no matter what the size, she'd be in the office of the Correction Officer/Supervisor that there are consequences for inmates of all sizes that prove to be too dangerous and out of control to ever be placed on the same floor she is and just as the other inmate mentioned to her before, he talks about solitary confinement down below and as much as he and the others hate having to do something like that to anyone, it can only be done for the protection and good of others, even if there is not that many down there at the moment, but he certainly doesn't wish to send Dawn down there either, judging by her fragile size that she is not capable of inflicting such damage on anyone with her own hands. While he is someone that keeps his cool with all inmates, he can only give her a fair warning, while other staff members are not as easy about mentioning "solitary confinement" around her.

Well that's a life in prison.

The way she cleans the floor looks a bit familiar I say. :)
